COURSE DEVELOPMENTS
MOTHER NATURE / BAD NEWS / GOOD NEWS: A seemingly endless supply of storms and near-record rainfall totals in the Indianapolis area in June (resulting in
a summer's worth of rain in 30 days) caused the White River to breach its banks in late June and flood portions of BC's back 9 fairways. The flood waters receded in three (3) days time, but the combination of 90 degree temperatures and standing water damaged portions of the back 9 fairways. The good news is that most of the damaged areas have been reseeded, new grass is already beginning to grow and the greens were untouched by the flood water! Hole 15 was the hardest hit and will play as a Par 3 until further notice.
Until the flooding, the course held up well to the rain.
The new tee at the back end of the driving range is coming along nicely. New hazard stakes have been placed around the course. The greens have been verticut several times and should be speeding up.
We have added a 4th set of tees--yellow--which are located between the white and red tees. These can be considered senior tees for men.
Much credit goes to Bluff Creek Co-Managers Lance Clute and Steve Knieper, Merlin Clute, Course Manager George Greer and his staff, for working long and hard hours to make the course playable after the flood.
