About Us

Bluff Creek Golf Course is owned by a group of dedicated people who all work at other jobs, have families and come from normal walks of life--just like our customers. Several of our owners work behind the scenes at Bluff Creek--and some behind the counter or on the golf course--on a volunteer basis to make it possible for Bluff Creek to offer its bargain rates. The owners are Jason and Susan Bilbrey, Larry Brown, Pat Brown, Lance and Ann Clute, Merlin and Diane Clute, Steve Coffman, Doug Gibson, Jim Hood, Tom Hood, Jody Hendryx, Steve and Beth Knieper, Scott Pedigo, Dr. Tom Wisler and DJT Eagle Enterprise, LLC (Dave and Sandy Tipton). Lance Clute, Steve Knieper and Dave Tipton are the business co-managers of Bluff Creek. Blaise Clute (with his 2 sons in the photo to the right) is our Manager and Geary Brutcher, Jr. manages golf course maintenance. Our PGA Professional is Dick Flee.

History

Opened as a 9 hole self-serve golf course in 1998, Bluff Creek has come a long way from humble beginnings. Before the clubhouse was built in 2000, golfers were on the honor system to pay for golf. We are happy to report that those early Bluff Creek golfers were an honorable group. The clubhouse was expanded in 2008 to include an outside party deck on the second floor and the enlarged Pavilion Room (seating 100) upstairs from the Pro Shop and the Hogan Bar and Grill. The Pavilion Room is connected to the Party Deck and makes a great spot for banquets, PARTIES, anniversaries, OUTINGS, meetings, reunions and small wedding receptions. The view from the Party Deck is scenic and relaxing.

In 2012 we hoping for better weather than last year so Bluff Creek golfers can have more fun and play more golf. The Banquet Room makes a great spot for lunch whether you golf or not. Check out WHAT'S NEW at Bluff Creek for all the latest BC news and offerings.

The Bluff Creek Myth

Contrary to a common misunderstanding, Bluff Creek Golf Course does not flood when it rains. Bluff Creek has nine (9) retention ponds and holds rain water well, better than most golf courses. When it rains you will find that Bluff Creek allows golf carts on more of the course than other golf courses. Bluff Creek is often open after heavy rains when other area golf courses are closed. However, Bluff Creek is in the White River flood plain making it's back 9 fairways susceptible to rare flooding when the river rises in golf season.

In Memoriam

One of the original co-owners of Bluff Creek, Larry K. Brown, passed away September 16, 2011. Larry was a member of Indian Creek Christian Church and was employed with Indianapolis Power and Light for 31 years, retiring in 2001 as the transportation supervisor.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Patricia K. Connor Brown (with Larry in the photo on the right); sons, John E. (Catherine) and Larry C. (Cari) Brown; daughter, Kari A. (Michael) Boerner; stepdaughter, Lora L. (David) Wedding; stepson, Ryan W. (Andrea) Cox; grandchildren, Earl Jr., Brandon, Matthew, Morgan, Adam, Christopher, Corbin, Alivia, Gabe, Claire, Haley, and Brianna; siblings, Linda Baker, Karren (Steve) Moore, David (Bonnie) Brown, Kathileen Puntenney, Warren Brown, Diana (Ron) Smith and Charles Brown.

Larry will be missed by all, especially by his "Bluff Creek family."
